MEW Mobile now supports SOL!
Founded in 2015, shortly after Ethereum’s mainnet debut, MyEtherWallet (MEW) began as a straightforward web tool for accessing the Ethereum network. Over time, it has expanded into a full-featured platform that connects users to dozens of blockchain networks and ecosystems. Throughout the past decade, MEW has endured market ups and downs while launching sleek, easy-to-use mobile and browser wallets built for users of all experience levels. Now, managing your SOL is simple and secure with the MEW Mobile app.
Use this guide to help import Solana from your Solflare wallet into MEW Mobile, where you can hold it, swap it to ETH, stablecoins, or any other token, and put it to work earning you some crypto instead of just sitting there!
Before you can explore Solana on MEW, you’ll need your Solflare wallet phrase.
Open up your Solflare Wallet. Unlock your wallet then click on the account icon at the top left of the app.
Click the Edit option at the top right.
Click the 3 dots on the right of the wallet you want to import.
Note: Only SOL from this wallet will be available in MEW at this time. MEW Mobile is only importing the key to the SOL account(s) you will select, protected under multiple layers of cryptographic and biometric security. MEW is NOT importing or saving your entire Solflare wallet phrase. Your Solflare wallet phrase and your existing MEW Mobile phrases are separate, and you should continue to keep them both secure.
Select ‘Export recovery phrase’.
Once you click ‘Show’, your secret phrase will appear for anyone to see! Make sure you're alone and that no one can see your phone screen.
Once your secret phrase is displayed on screen, it is recommended to write it down on a piece of paper rather than screenshotting it. Screenshots live on your phone and are vulnerable to being hacked, so to be safe you never want to screenshot your secret phrase.
Once you have your secret phrase written down and safe, head to the MEW Mobile app.
On the MEW Mobile app, switch to the Solana network in the top left corner then click on ‘Move your SOL to MEW’.
You can import your Solflare SOL account to MEW or you can send SOL from your Solflare wallet to your MEW Mobile wallet. Select ‘Import my SOL wallet’ to manage your SOL directly in MEW.
(Click ‘Send SOL to myself’ to copy your MEW SOL address and then paste it into your Solflare wallet to send SOL.)
Select ‘Import using Secret Recovery Phrase’.
Mark all the checkboxes after reading them carefully, then click ‘Continue’.
Enter your recovery phrase then click ‘Import’ at the top right.
Select the accounts you want to import then click ‘Finish Importing’.
Your Solana wallet will start being imported into MEW Wallet. This process should take about a minute.
Once your Solana wallet is done importing, click ‘Continue’.
You should now be able to see your Solana wallet in your MEW Mobile app! You can swap your SOL to ETH and stake it, or swap to any other token on different EVM networks and use those tokens in various DeFi protocols.
